How Great Would That Be?

So, I'm attempting to get approved to take part in a clinical trial for a new drug treatment. It is not a cure. Nope. There is no cure. But, it may reduce the symptoms of the M.D. Most days I wake feeling as if I've been beaten to a pulp, run over by a truck. To rid myself of that would be a step in the right direction. If I can regain the use of muscle groups, even better. If reducing symptoms includes getting rid of the ED,  and means regaining the ability to get and maintain an erection at will...

How great would that be?

I hope that you did the best choice and that everything will go better and better.
But the word "drug", as for me, is never reassuring, so I searched with Google and I found this page, of which I give you the link in case you don't already know it:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/muscular-dystrophy/basics/treatment/con-20021240
They write: Your doctor may recommend corticosteroids, such as prednisone, which can help improve muscle strength and delay the progression of certain types of muscular dystrophy. But prolonged use of these types of drugs can cause weight gain and weaken bones, increasing fracture risk.
I am not sure that it reassures me enormously, but I'm not going through what you're going through and, obviously, the choice belongs to you and nobody else.
I can only renew what I said in my first sentence, by whisking you a wondrous day, my darlings Jean and Pat.

A great opportunity. No telling what you may see in improvements even if just incremental. You're a great candidate because you're willing and you have a good positive attitude, what more could they asked for?

Hugs and bisous to you and dear French Patrick.

That would be great news.....I'll keep my fingers crossed. My neighbor across the way has also recently been diagnosis with MD. She feels the way you do in the morning and has good and bad days. Some days she calls me to walk her dog, as that's a challenge some days. Hang it there my friend.

You know all this time visiting you I didn't know you had Muscular Distrophy . I'm so sorry to hear that. I knew you had some type of Chronic pain but it never added up with me. Well I didn't wish you the best wi h that. Some of the experiments can work wonders but also make sure you have as much info as possible.

@ mistress - see what a good man you are??? Thank you for helping your neighbor when she needs it. There are good days, bad days, and in-between days with this. Most of the time we are able to power through. Others, we just can't do much of anything at all. Extra hugs!!!

@ Jean - I had a cousin who was diagnosed with RA at 16. By her early 20s her body had already been ravaged. Still, the Cleveland Clinic was doing trials and she volunteered. Those treatments available to day are there because she helped them get developed. I figure it the same way. Perhaps, someday the treatment may help others even if they don't help me now. Hugs et bisous!
